Communication technologies have been very successful in their quest for total penetration. One of their tactics is to fuse with other technologies to offer consumers a complete experience. A complete experience that can be used however the customer chooses to; this is part of the promise that companies offer. Some, have taken the initiative of incorporating said communication technologies into their workplace. Companies have experimented from incorporating new hardware into their environment to even interviewing potential candidates for available positions.
This is one of the most practical uses for video technology, and it could also be the reality that many communication technology developers had in mind for the future. One should bear in mind that video technology isn’t the only one needed to carry out a job interview, it is just the one that stands out the most. If analyzed part by part, an interview is a harmonious incorporation of many of the technologies discussed in this blog. It incorporates video, audio, a monitor, and even the use of broadband. This certainly is more engaging than an interview over the phone, which is still common today.
One can only expect the use of video to become more widespread in an activity such as job hunting. It will become a more enriching and even intimate experience for both employers and possible employees. Candidates may even send videos to their potential employers to either complement their resume or as a sample of their work (depending on the profession). Conversely, employers may use videos to showcase the open position in their company and give their candidates a better idea of what to expect if hired. Visuals have always been able to enhance and better depict what words can merely describe. Everyone is making use of technology, but not everyone is taking full advantage of the benefits it offers.
